 Great piece of /sw Havent had a chance to use the API in much detail.But to have a java library that allows snmp querieswrapped such that the implementation is abstracted is simply awesome.
AdventNet SNMP API - Free Edition. It is providing many useful functions. And is very easy to use.
 Embedded Problems It worked well in my desktop tests but caused my embeeded app to fail to load on its device. I suspect memory requirements, which are somewhat tight.

 A good Java library for working with SNMP I have been searching for a Java library that used SNMP. I've tried netsnmpj, a binding of net-snmp but couldn't get to work correctly on fedora 5, with problems with old libraries (besides, it seems to be a dead binding for a few years now).AdventNet SNMP worked with no problems... just unzip and update the classpath and pronto... no need for external .so files and no digging arround. The only digging i had to do was searching for the stuff i wanted inside the library, but the examples are a great help.

 The application looks like it does what it says. My only quam is it was labeled as \"Freeware\" but in truth, it is only free for a limited time. I\'d prefer to be told that up front as opposed to going through the trouble to download it to find that out.

 User I/F is very simple to use but urfortunately in Win 7 machine I could not make it work at all. I need more time to figure it out
This is not proper review but I would like to state that I will use this java lib\'s for my test project to find out what will suite me better: Java based or PHP based system.TNX for making this lib\'s available for community use.
 Comments on the linux prod. Windows component is good but the linux one is not functional in redhat enterprise linux 5 version. That a big issue.
sending snmp v3 traps i was interested in using this for the generation of snmp v3 traps.it did not seem to do what i wanted, correct traps were not being sent.if there is a way to do this, please let me know.thanx...pat

Opinion I'm still learning the many facilities available with PRTG Network monitor, but from what I have already discovered, it more than meets my requirements and is an excellent piece of software - more then 'Fit for Purpose'. It does what it says on the box.
PRTG seems very potent. my primary use, to monitor my internet connection uptime, has been reached.
Nice product, really useful.
